Who We Are


Evidence Action’s Beta incubator explores interventions with initial evidence of impact that might be suitable for massive scale up to become our next flagship programs.

The Beta portfolio includes a diverse range of initiatives, ranging from programs in the later stages of incubation such as No Lean Season (seasonal migration) and Winning Start (remedial education) to earlier-stage incubation efforts, such as our collaboration with the Government of India on strengthening its national school-based iron-folic acid supplementation program.

What We’re Looking For

Our immediate need is for an
Assistant,Communications to be based in Nairobi and focused on Winning Start in Kenya and our partnership on G-United.

The Assistant, Communication will be responsible for executing video and design briefs, adhering to programme brand guidelines across various online and offline platforms.

This position will administer a wide range of design and videography tasks within a fast-paced work environment.

Alongside graphic design, this position will require some experience in web design/development, photography, and videography (specifically skills in recording and editing video).

Comfort with camera, video and audio equipment is essential; these media skills will be exercised regularly for ongoing organization-wide and programme-specific projects.

While carrying out these duties, the Assistant, Communication can expect to create and design work that will not just be impactful to communities, but also challenging and rewarding, as part of a dynamic team spearheading a unique programme in Kenya.


What You’d Do

The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the implementation and design of collateral materials, including: radio, print and online advertisements; publications and reports; newsletters and other email communication; web design assets; videos; and storyboards.
  • Utilization of camera equipment for taking photos, and producing and editing in-house videos for organization-wide and program-specific branding, promotion and advertising.
  • Travel to program locations for recording videos and photographs of the program

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Active enrollment or completion of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree program with a concentration in Graphic Design, Advertising, Marketing, or equivalent experience
    Strong proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Spark and Premiere)
  • Exhibit knowledge of creative and technology trends for design execution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design elements, principles and concepts
  • Knowledge of how to operate camera, video and audio equipment for video shoots
  • Advanced video editing skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment with multiple projects on a short timeline
  • Willingness to travel at short notice
    Strong communication and presentation skills in English
  • Highly organized, with critical attention to detail
  • Strong functional use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team structure

    Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience and/or strong understanding of Web Design and Design Essentials
  • Extensive experience and skill in video production
  • UX expertise and content creation experience is a plus
  • Please note : This is a temporary 3 month job assignment
