Risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) is an essential component of health emergency readiness and response activities.
According to the joint directions of WHO, UNICEF and Red-cross "A clear and integrated Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) strategy and response are vital for individual, family, and community uptake of essential public health and biomedical interventions to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19” (WHO 2020; UNICEF 2020).
The availability of reliable information sources on evolving pandemics, such as COVID-19, may embody certain attributes that encourage compliance with recommended adaptive behavior.
Evidence suggests that lack of data or information generally drives unpreparedness to contain deadly diseases and discourages positive attributes for behavior change.
The health system and reproductive health research directorate & in collaboration with integrated Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) section, PHEM, wants to assess COVID-19 risk perceptions and individual behavioral response in Ethiopian.
It is community & facility based survey and will be undertaken on a representative sample of households across the country
Job Requirements
MPH/ MSC and above with health related Back ground
Proven experience of similar position
Proven experience in electronic data collection using tablets;
Knowledge of the Ethiopian health care system
Good interpersonal communication;
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Assist EPHI in establishing /Improving internal systems
and ensure the follow up through COVID-19 Risk Perceptions and Behavioral Response survey.
Ensure all kinds of logistics for the project implementation are available, adequate and respond appropriately for each field staff when the need arises
Regularly monitor all project staff, data collectors and data managers that ate appropriately implementing the survey protocol
Prepare appropriate work plan for monitoring and evaluation for each activities of the field staff to ensure the smooth execution of the project according to the master plan of the project
Design monitoring and evaluation strategy to efficiently and effectively implement the project activates
Establish Central level oversight system of field work to validate supervisor reports and data quality
Check for data Consistency and produce tables and analysis results as per the required results of COVID-19 Risk Perceptions and Behavioral Response survey
Ensures field supervisors are adequately instructed and a system for documenting activates and results are institutionalized
Assist EPHI in training and ensure that field practice with review of results in an integral part of the survey training
Prepare a regular reporting system and update the PI and the central research team of EPHI weekly
Prepare appropriate formatting to datasets as requested by the PI and HSRHD
