Equity Bank Strategy Execution, Governance & Portfolio Visibility Manager Jobs in Tanzania
Job Purpose
Responsible for driving enterprise-wide transformation governance, strategy execution, and portfolio visibility across the Bank.
Ensures strategic priorities are translated into executable initiatives with clear ownership, milestones, governance, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
Provides a single source of truth for portfolio performance, executive reporting, delivery governance, and strategic execution health across the institution.
Oversees governance disciplines that ensure strategic initiatives remain aligned, measurable, controlled, and successfully delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy-to-Execution Translation & Portfolio Visibility
Act as the central coordination lead for enterprise transformation initiatives across the Bank.
Coordinate translation of strategic priorities into executable initiatives with defined ownership, milestones, deliverables, and success measures.
Manage initiative intake and onboarding processes to ensure all projects are formally governed before entering the portfolio.
Maintain enterprise-wide visibility of strategic and transformation initiatives through a consolidated governance framework.
Ensure alignment between strategic objectives, delivery plans, performance targets, and transformation outcomes.
Support prioritization and sequencing of initiatives based on business impact, dependencies, risks, and institutional priorities.
Align initiative performance tracking with the institutional Balanced Scorecard framework.
Governance Reporting
Prepare strategic initiative and transformation reporting for Board, EXCO, Management Committees, Steering Committees, and governance forums.
Maintain portfolio-wide RAG (Red, Amber, Green) reporting and delivery health assessments.
Coordinate and quality-assure executive and committee reporting packs.
Prepare Strategic Execution Health Reports for executive leadership.
Directive, Decision & Risk Governance
Maintain Board, Managing Director, and EXCO directive execution logs.
Track strategic decisions, approvals, assumptions, dependencies, and management actions through structured governance registers.
Maintain issue, risk, and dependency registers and ensure timely escalation of unresolved items.
Escalate material governance
and delivery risks in accordance with approved governance frameworks.
Delivery Governance & Coordination
Establish and maintain disciplined governance routines and delivery cadences across the transformation portfolio.
Manage change control processes related to scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and delivery assumptions.
Monitor cross-functional dependencies and identify sequencing conflicts that may affect delivery.
Track resource and capacity conflicts across initiatives and escalate risks proactively.
Manage formal initiative close-out processes including acceptance, lessons learned, documentation, accountability discharge, and record retention.
Maintain stakeholder maps and monitor influence dynamics among executive stakeholders.
Execution Governance Discipline
Administer and enforce governance processes within project and portfolio management platforms such as Monday.com or equivalent tools.
Ensure portfolio information remains accurate, current, and reliable for decision-making.
Apply Business Excellence principles including enterprise-first thinking, accountability, evidence-based decision-making, and governance discipline.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, Strategy, Engineering, Project Management, Management Science, or a related field.
MBA, MSc in Strategy, or equivalent postgraduate qualification is strongly preferred.
