Equity Bank Head of Sales Jobs in Kenya; The role oversees and integrates Treasury Sales activities across Corporate, SME, Retail, Public Sector, and Financial Institutions segments, while advancing the digital sales agenda through e‑trading and electronic distribution platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership – Sales, Origination & E‑Sales

  • Define and execute integrated Treasury Sales, Origination, and E‑Sales strategy aligned to Treasury Strategy and ARRP priorities

  • Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion across traditional and digital channels

  • Provide leadership to sales teams across Corporate, SME, Retail, Public Sector, FI, and Digital segments

  • Lead digital sales agenda, scaling up e‑trading platforms (e.g., EazzyFX)

  • Champion end‑to‑end digital client journey including wallet solutions and migration to structured platforms

  • Partner with Technology, Payments, and Product teams to enhance digital capabilities and client experience

  • Strengthen client relationships across all segments with tailored solutions

  • Identify cross‑border Treasury opportunities leveraging Group network

  • Build strategic relationships with corporates, institutional investors, financial institutions, and public sector entities

    Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions

  • Uphold market conduct, operational risk, and credit risk management practices

  • Enforce adherence to governance frameworks, policies, limits, and ethical guidelines

  • Foster strong risk and compliance culture across Treasury Sales activities

  • Take accountability for ethical, regulatory, and business conduct standards

  • Identify, escalate, and resolve risk and compliance issues with Treasury Risk & Controls

    Talent Management

  • Mentor junior staff and build expertise in Treasury Sales and digital platforms

  • Develop a high‑performing, diverse talent pipeline aligned to Group values and KPIs

    Core Accountabilities & Deliverables

  • Deliver annual and quarterly revenue targets across all segments and digital platforms

  • Drive market share expansion through sales initiatives aligned with Treasury Strategy

  • Increase adoption and profitability of digital trading platforms and wallet solutions

  • Strengthen client relationships and deliver tailored solutions

  • Maintain governance compliance across products,
    pricing, and execution standards

  • Build and develop high‑performing sales and E‑Sales teams with succession pipelines

  • Produce high‑quality sales performance reports, pipeline tracking, pricing reviews, and risk reports

  • Ensure rollout of new digital products and platform enhancements

  • Engage stakeholders across footprint for consistent Treasury Sales Strategy deployment

    Qualifications

    Academic

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field

  • Master’s Degree (MBA) preferred

    Professional Certification

  • CFA, FRM, ACCA, or CA strongly preferred

  • ACI Dealing Certificate – mandatory

  • Certifications in digital innovation, fintech, product management, or data analytics (added advantage)

    Experience Requirements

  • 12–15 years’ financial services/Treasury experience, minimum 5 years in senior leadership

  • Proven track record in driving sales growth across Corporate, SME, Retail, and FI segments

  • Experience in digital sales, e‑trading platforms, or fintech‑enabled execution models

  • Strong exposure to African markets, cross‑border business, and senior client engagements

    Key Technical Skills & Leadership Competencies

  • Strong understanding of financial markets, products, and economic fundamentals

  • Deep expertise in FX, money markets, derivatives, and capital markets products

  • Advanced knowledge of digital sales platforms, e‑trading, APIs, and integration

  • Proven capability in pricing, financial analysis, and balance sheet‑linked strategies

  • Excellent commercial, negotiation, and influencing skills

  • Strong knowledge of African markets and regulatory environments

  • Strategic mindset, ethical leadership, resilience, and client‑centricity
