Equity Afia Pediatrician Jobs in Kenya; The Pediatrician is responsible for evaluating complex medical cases, interpreting clinical data, and providing expert guidance on patient care strategies, regulatory compliance, and health policy. The role also includes supervising and mentoring the clinical practice of other healthcare professionals within their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage pediatric patients with diverse medical conditions.

  • Interpret clinical data and provide expert guidance on patient care strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, documentation, and reporting procedures.

  • Supervise and mentor junior healthcare professionals.

  • Participate in clinical audits, healthcare consulting, and policy advisory initiatives.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical workflows and healthcare systems.

    Qualifications

  • Master of Medicine in Pediatrics.

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS).

  • At least two (2) years postgraduate work experience or evidence of supervision by a senior specialist.

  • Registered as a specialist with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.

  • Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).

    Desirable Competencies

  • Strong clinical decision‑making
    and patient management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of Kenyan laws, regulations, guidelines, and health schemes.

  • Excellent report writing skills.

  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare systems, and regulatory environments.

  • Ability to communicate complex medical concepts clearly to non‑clinical stakeholders.

  • Experience in healthcare consulting, clinical audits, data analysis, or policy advisory is an added advantage.
