Job Details

  • The Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019 and is responsible for Economic and Technical Regulation of Electric Power, Renewable Energy, Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Petroleum sub-sectors.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance in formulation and development of strategies on sector
    information, data management and statistical analysis ;

  • Providing support in monitoring and evaluating the performance of the sector;

  • Coordinate collection, collation, analysis, reporting and maintenance of sector data;

  • Preparation of statistical reports on the sector in the country;

  • Preparation of position papers and briefs ;

  • Representing the institution in stakeholder meetings on relevant research and sector policy issues;

  • Providing leadership in sector research and policy issues ;

  • Formulating and developing strategies on relevant research and sector policy analysis;

  • Providing support to the inter-directorate effort on research, development and policy analysis;

  • Conducting sector research and policy analysis, and preparation of position papers and reports; and

  • Development of statistical information and supporting models related to projections, forecasting, and impact analysis.

    Qualifications & Skills Required

  • At least eight (8) years’ work experience with three (3) of which must be in supervisory position;

  • A Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Econometrics, an Applied Economics Discipline, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Business Studies or Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • A Masters Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Econometrics, an Applied Economics Discipline, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Business Studies or Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Membership of a relevant professional body in good standing, where applicable;

  • Certificate in management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; and

  • Personal attributes such as; analytical skills; communication, report writing
    skills, managerial skills and ability to lead teams, mentoring, coaching and leadership skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills, team player; and strategic thinking

    Mandatory Requirements for All Positions

    Applicants MUST provide the following documents on application;

  • A Signed application letter

  • A detailed CV indicating their current and previous employers, positions held, current and expected salary, level of education and names of at least three professional referees

  • Copies of academic and professional certificates

  • Copy of National Identification Card or Passport

  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations

  • Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

  • Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

  • Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and

  • Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
