Job Details

  • The Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019 and is responsible for Economic and Technical Regulation of Electric Power, Renewable Energy, Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Petroleum sub-sectors.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing applicable sector standards in Kenya;

  • Maintaining effective collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders;

  • Conducting compliance checks on all related works and services;

  • Investigating allegations of contravention of codes, standards and frameworks;
  • Investigating accidents;

  • Undertaking investigations on complaints and suspicion of non- compliance; and

  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders in respect to enforcement.

    Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Have at least eight (8) years relevant work experience; three (3) of which must be in supervisory role;

  • A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Law, Criminology, Economics, Environmental Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • A Masters degree in Engineering, Law, Criminology, Economics, Environmental Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Membership of a professional body, in good standing, where applicable;

  • Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

  • Proficiency in Computer applications;

  • Demonstrated results in work performance;

  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and

  • Personal attributes such as; strategic thinking, analytical skills, excellent communication and reporting skills, good managerial skills and ability to lead teams, mentoring, coaching and leadership skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills and a team player.

    Mandatory Requirements for All Positions

    Applicants MUST provide the following documents on application;

  • A Signed application letter

  • A detailed CV indicating
    their current and previous employers, positions held, current and expected salary, level of education and names of at least three professional referees

  • Copies of academic and professional certificates

  • Copy of National Identification Card or Passport

  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations

  • Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

  • Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

  • Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and

  • Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
