Consultancy Service to Revise Health Sector Gender Mainstreaming Manual (HSGMM) and Develop a Standardized Training Package for Health Sector Gender Mainstreaming

EngenderHealth, under Family Planning by Choice Programme (FPbC), seeks applications from experienced expert to serve as a short term consultant to revise the Health Sector Gender Mainstreaming Manual and develop Training package for Health Sector Gender Mainstreaming for Women, Children and Youth Directorate of FMoH.

The programme is part of a partnership between DFID and Ethiopia FMoH, and aims to provide Technical Assistance and Capacity Building to the FMoH and RHBs to improve quality, equity, choice and financing for comprehensive family planning and safe abortion services in Ethiopia.

This will be a short-term consultancy for three months financially supported by EngenderHealth with a fund from DFID with an anticipated start date of May 6, 2019. Qualified women applicants are highly encouraged to apply.

Duty Station:

The Selected consultant will be expected to work at Federal Ministry of Health – Women, Children and Youth Directorate, Addis Ababa.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Specialized knowledge

  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in gender and development and/or gender and health, with proven experience developing training material on gender
    equitable programming or other related areas.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills including ability to present complex processes and issues clearly to a heterogeneous audience and in an actionable manner.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting training and related capacity building on gender equality programming, or other related fields.
    Strong technical understanding of gender equitable programming
  • Strong understanding of Gender Based Violence (GBV) related capacity building and programming in the context of Ethiopia.
  • Advanced university degree in Gender Studies and/or Social Sciences or other related fields.
