ENCOT Microfinance Project Manager Jobs in Uganda


  • The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating people and processes to ensure that the project is delivered on time and desired results are produced.

  • He/She must have in-depth/broad experience in developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability & allocation, and delivering the project on time within budget and scope.

    Major Areas of Accountability

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation

  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress

  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs

  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

  • Report and escalate to management as needed

  • Establish and Manage the relationship with the customers and all stakeholders

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

    Minimum Qualifications & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance or in related field or equivalent work experience; MBA or Advanced education preferred. With a minimum of 4 years’ experience in implementing projects.

  • Strong background and prior experience in project development, project management cycle, budget management and participatory planning methodologies.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in people management including the ability to lead and motivate others.

  • Vast knowledge and understanding of the Microfinance industry, contemporary microfinance product(s) structure and loan management systems in a rapidly growing microfinance business.

  • Knowledge and focus on developing digital channels or other related services to increase
    social impact is highly desirable.

  • Strong training and mentoring skills.

  • Strong experience in networking, community mobilization, and facilitation.

  • Demonstrated experience and skills in research, analysis and report writing

  • Experience in proposal writing and development

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Good interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work sensitively with people from a variety of social backgrounds

  • Experience in donor and partner relations

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to ENCOT’s mission and vision.

  • Flexible and able to multitask; work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment while driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, good understanding of IT and its role in modern management as well delivery of services to target customers.

  • Able to travel as required.
