Job Description (Major Roles and Responsibilties)You are responsible for the technical quality of tasks performed by Enabel staff in Agriculture sector, in charge of making sure linkages are created with other programs such as the Social Protection project as well as other Enabel countries implementing similar projects;
You facilitate the co-creation and business development (for youth) around mission value chain services (e.g., logistics, input supply and marketing);
You coordinate the mobilization of research and innovation actors around the identified priorities through short term research projects, technology in the selected Agricultural Value Chains;
You provide input on the curricula developed for Agriculture related trades in the training institutes.
Required Qulificiations
Master’s degree in Agriculture Economics, Agricultural Sciences, Livestock production management, Economics (with specialisation in enterprise development or marketing) plus any other related studies with regard to this field.
Required Knowledge and Experience
At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in the technical implementation of programmes in the Agricultural sector in Uganda;
At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in entrepreneurial development, small-scale enterprise development and agricultural commodities marketing with emphasis in rural development within small holder production and marketing schemes;
Experience in Market Systems Development (MSD) in the agricultural sector is an added
advantage;
Relevant experience in working in a humanitarian context in the field of agriculture as well as a deep understanding of emergency agriculture concepts and programming;
Experience in working with communities and diverse stakeholders in conflict affected areas;
Understanding of agro- ecology applied to selected value chains, quality management of food, andragogy and extension on the agriculture food sector;
Sound knowledge and understanding of the on-going emerging policy issues in the area of agriculture, food security, rural development, poverty eradication and social protection;
Knowledge and experience in Multistakeholder approaches, gender approaches in agriculture value chain and rural youth;
Good knowledge of digital and communication skills as well as market intelligence;
Leading, mentoring and coaching a team of professionals.
