EMERGENCY Administrator Jobs in Ethiopia ;Founded in 1994, EMERGENCY is an independent and neutral international organisation providing free, high‑quality medical and surgical care to victims of war, landmines and poverty.

We promote peace, solidarity and respect for human rights, building healthcare facilities, training local personnel and conducting search and rescue missions in the Mediterranean Sea.

Contract Information

  • Fixed‑term contract: 6 months.

  • Monthly salary, travel expenses, board and lodgings, insurance cover (liability, health, accident).

  • Paid leave at end of mission.

    Background and Organisation of Work

    The Administrator manages all administrative and accountancy procedures of the project.

    The role coordinates and supervises non‑medical staff, providing on‑the‑job training.

    Reports to the Country Director and liaises regularly with HQ Field Operations Department.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all administrative and accountancy documentation is correctly maintained.

  • Manage cash, bank accounts and monthly reconciliations.

  • Oversee administrative management of national staff (salaries, contracts, holidays, permissions).

  • Prepare monthly reports (cash flow, statements, reports file) for HQ.

  • Collaborate with Country Director and HQ in drafting annual project budget.

  • Assist Country Director in drafting project proposals for institutional donors.

  • Support Country Director during donor audits.

    Specific Requirements

  • Diploma in Accountancy or bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science or International Relations.

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in administration.

  • Familiarity with donor financial guidelines (EU, MAECI, UN agencies) an advantage.

  • Experience managing petty cash, revenue and payments.

  • Experience reconciling bank accounts and cash records.

    Required Availability

  • 6 months overseas stay, including period of leave at mission end.
