Job PurposeThe Production Planning section head coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications.
Plan work flow and schedules for production departments.
Responsible for creating a production schedule using the ERP/MRP system, as well as provide regular reporting on manufacturing status
Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products
Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
Schedule shift according to production needs
Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
Prepare and submit status and performance reports
Keep paperwork organized
Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff
Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectation
Analyze and prepare documents needed for production.
Data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand.
Creates production schedule and prioritizes job-orders for production optimization.
Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in schedule discrepancies
Coordinate with departments as needed to identify and resolve issues regarding delivery Responsible for doing a materials plan for all materials required based on the lead time and MPS.
Purchase supplies and materials according to required technical specifications
Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures
Responsible for
launching all required purchase requests according to materials requirement plan and approved from planning manager
Responsible for Codes Creation and classifications of master material items through ERP system
Manage weekly material reports to ensure on time shipment for multiple orders.
Control inventory levels and ensure availability of material during emergencies
Responsible for improving delivery times, cost and quality of materials from vendors
Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.
Assist in forecasting to plan future orders
ensures that production schedules are met by purchasing the necessary materials
Monitors the performance of vendors to ensure continued quality and timely shipments.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to maintain adequate levels of parts and raw materials to manufacture the product.
Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels and reduce total costs.
Job Requirements
Education: BSc degree in Power Electrical Engineering
Years of Experience: At least 5 years
Computer skills: Microsoft office, Microsoft Projects, Primavera
Technical Competencies
Planning sales and operations planning, Master scheduling performance measurements supplier relationships
Knowledge of Transformers production, project management skills, MIS formulation, efficiency and workshop utilization.
Demand management, procurement management, supplier planning, material requirements planning capacity.
