Title: HIV Clinical Services Lead

Location: Kiambu County

Reports To: Associate Director of Programs

Classification: Full-time


How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?
Reporting to the Associate Director of Programs, the HIV Clinical Services Lead will contribute to the LVCT Dhibiti Project goal by coordinating, directing and providing technical assistance for activities intended to increase the capacity of Kiambu, Muranga, Nyeri and Kirinyaga County Ministry of Health, LVCT & EGPAF technical staff and other stakeholders to respond effectively to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Kiambu, Muranga, Nyeri and Kirinyaga sites.


The HIV Clinical Services Lead will focus on:
Strengthening service delivery with the provision of high-quality technical assistance.
Building the capacity of MHO staff for sustainability of HIV/AIDS interventions.
Improving the delivery of care and treatement services in line with the 95-95-95 strategy.
Provide leadership to the EGPAF Dhibiti project team in Central Kenya.


No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect as a Title?
  • With the guidance of Director of Programs, set program direction and approaches.
  • Lead and direct technical capacity building activities for provision of evidence-based and quality HIV/AIDS care and treatment services.
  • Oversee the work of the technical staff and ensure that the work of each technical area is coordinated at all levels.
  • Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation staff to monitor and evaluate contribution of trainings, support supervision and mentorship activities to service delivery outcomes.
  • Provide support to project personnel to technically enable them to provide high-quality prevention, care, and treatment technical assistance and mentorship support to MOH staff.
  • Take lead in various care and treatment proposal development processes.
  • Develop a detailed implementation and activity program plan, including program targets.
  • Ensure all other care and treatment components including M&E, laboratory, community linkage, pharmacy, QI, trainings, are all linked and implemented according to the plan.
  • Prepare quarterly, semi-annual and annual narrative progress reports.
  • Solid financial management of EGPAF Dhibiti project, participate in budget reviews and development, as well as tracking and monitoring of budgets to curtail project budget blow-outs.
  • Provide high level technical advice to technical advisors and officers in supervising and monitoring implementation of sub grantees planned activities.
  • Perform site visits and technical program reviews.
  • Participate in identifying program training needs and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Participate in relevant meetings with the Ministry of Health and as well as with donors.


    To be successful, you will have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery (MBCHB) or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years HIV/AIDS work experience (especially within the context of health systems strengthening or health systems development in capacity building); or quality assurance/quality management.
