Professional Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in hospitality management from a recognized institution Or Diploma in hospitality management preferably from Kenya Utalii College.
  • Degree in public relations/ communication in addition to a diploma in hospitality management from a recognized institution.
  • Degree in business administration in addition with a diploma in hospitality management from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a four star hotel or a medium sized club.
  • Management and Supervisory skills.

    General Responsibilties
  • The Secretary is the chief administration officer of the club.
  • He/ She provides the coordinating link between members, the management committee and outside agencies.
  • The Club Secretary/ manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Club and its staff.

    Duties
  • Prepare the agenda for club meetings in consultation with the committee Chairman.
  • Ensuring meetings are effectively organized and minuted.
  • Liaising with the Chair to plan meetings.
    Manage budgets and financial plans and control expenditure
  • Send adequate notice of the meetings.
  • Collect and collate reports from office bearers.
  • Call for and receive nominations for committees and other positions for the club AGM.
  • Take the minutes of meetings.
  • Set and achieve sales and profit targets
  • Recruiting, training and supervising staff.
  • Ensure events and conferences run smoothly
  • Handling customer complaints and
    queries
  • Read, reply and file correspondence promptly.
  • Collate and arrange for the printing of the annual report.
  • Maintain registers of members’ names and addresses, life members and sponsors.
  • Maintain files of legal documents such as constitutions, leases and titles.
  • Act as the public officer of the club liaising with members of the public, affiliated bodies and government agencies.
  • Other tasks handle bookings and entries; supervise uniforms; respond to general duties as directed by the club committee.
