Professional Qualifications and Experience
  • First Degree in Commerce/Business Administration (Accounting option) plus a CPA (K) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a four star hotel or a medium sized club.

    General Responsibilties
  • The assistant accountant shall in consultation with the chief accountant apply sound principles, systems and techniques in accounting for the Club’s finances as directed by the Club Committee.
  • Assist the accountant in overall review of accounting procedures at the club.
  • Assist the Chief accountant in preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assist the chief accountant in Supervision of all cash, banking, banking records and monthly bank reconciliation
  • Assist the chief accountant in preparation, processing and payment of salaries and wages.
  • Control of cash float for change and petty cash
  • Assist the chief accountant with the responsibility of examining supplier invoices, reconciliation of creditor’s accounts.
  • Plan, perform or oversee the performance of, stock-taking of all operational assets
  • Prepares and dispatches member statements
  • Ensures all procurement processes are followed and adhered to.
  • He/she must follow the policies of the Club as laid down from time to time by the committee and by his/her professional conduct set an example to all other staff.
