Job Role
  • The School ICT administrator ensures that all ICT systems are running smoothly, securely, and efficiently, and that staff and students are able to make the most of these resources to support their teaching and learning activities.

    Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and upgrading school ICT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Managing and troubleshooting school ICT systems, including hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Monitoring and maintaining networks and servers.
  • Upgrading, installing and configuring new hardware and software to meet company objectives.
  • Implementing security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
  • Creating user accounts and performing access control.
  • Performing diagnostic tests and debugging procedures to optimize computer systems.
  • Documenting processes, as well as backing up and archiving data.
  • Developing data retrieval and recovery procedures.
  • Designing and implementing efficient end-user feedback and error reporting systems.
  • Keeping up to date with advancements and best practices in IT administration
  • Providing technical support to students and staff for IT-related issues.
  • Developing and implementing ICT policies and procedures for the school.
  • Ensuring data security and privacy for the school's ICT systems.
  • Developing and delivering ICT training to staff and students.
  • Managing the school's ICT budget, including purchasing and allocating resources.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest ICT trends and innovations, and assessing their potential impact on the school.
  • Collaborating with other school staff and administration to integrate ICT into teaching and learning activities.
  • Managing and maintaining school databases, including student records, attendance, and assessment data.
  • Developing and managing the school's website, social media, and other digital communication channels.
  • Participating in school IT-related committees and working groups, and attending relevant professional development opportunities.

    Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

    The Key Performance Indicator for the School ICT Administrator include:
  • System uptime: measuring the percentage of time the school's ICT systems are operational and available for use.
  • Help desk responsiveness: measuring the speed and effectiveness of the help desk in resolving IT-related issues for students and staff.
  • Data security: monitoring and ensuring the security and privacy of student and staff data in the school's ICT systems.
  • ICT training: measuring the effectiveness of the ICT training provided to staff and students.
  • ICT budget management: monitoring and controlling the school's ICT spending to ensure that it stays within budget.
  • ICT policy
    compliance: ensuring that the school's ICT policies and procedures are followed by staff and students.
  • System updates and upgrades: ensuring that the school's ICT systems are kept up-to-date with the latest software and hardware updates.
  • Integration with teaching and learning: measuring the extent to which ICT is integrated into teaching and learning activities, and the impact on student learning outcomes.
  • Communication and collaboration: measuring the effectiveness of communication and collaboration between the ICT team, school staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Professional development: tracking and encouraging ongoing professional development opportunities for the ICT team to stay up-to-date with the latest ICT trends and innovations.

    Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Applicable professional qualification, such as Microsoft, Oracle, or Cisco certification.
  • At least two years experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive experience with IT systems, networks, and related technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security.
  • Computer hardware and software management
  • Installation of computer software, interactive boards, and other equipment used by the school
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
