Economic Commission for Africa Programme Management Officer Jobs in Ethiopia;ECA’s mission is to deliver ideas and actions for an empowered and transformed Africa, guided by the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063. The Technology, Innovation, Connectivity and Infrastructure Division (TICID) promotes inclusive growth, sustainable development and economic transformation through science, technology, innovation, enhanced connectivity and infrastructure. The Programme Officer is located in the Connectivity and Infrastructure Section, reporting to the Chief of Section.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in development, implementation and evaluation of programmes/projects; monitor and analyze progress; identify issues and propose corrective actions.

Perform advisory service assignments, facilitate workshops and assist in developing action plans.

Research, analyze and present information on transport infrastructure and services.

Assist in policy development, review and analysis of issues/trends, preparation of evaluations and studies.

Undertake survey initiatives; design data collection tools; review and interpret responses; prepare conclusions.

Draft background papers, analyses, reports and inputs to publications.

Provide substantive support to meetings and conferences; propose agenda topics, identify participants, prepare documents and presentations.

Undertake outreach activities; conduct training workshops and seminars; make presentations.

Participate in or lead field missions; provide guidance to consultants and officials; draft mission summaries.

Coordinate activities related to budget and funding; prepare related documents/reports.

Collect and analyze data

to identify trends/patterns; provide insights through visualizations for planning and reporting.

Ensure requirements and background information for data analysis are documented.

Perform other duties as required.

Languages

Fluency in English required. Knowledge of French desirable. Knowledge of another UN language an advantage.
