Economic Commission for Africa Physiotherapy Assistant Nurse Jobs in Ethiopia;The Physiotherapy Nurse will support the delivery of physiotherapy services to UN staff and eligible dependents, providing both core and non‑core services. The role ensures patient registration, treatment support, monitoring, and documentation in line with UNHCC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients requesting physiotherapy services in electronic medical records

  • Schedule physiotherapy sessions and send appointment reminders

  • Request insurance Letters of Guarantee when needed

  • Ensure timely payment for physiotherapy treatments

  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and range of motion during sessions

  • Assist physiotherapists in delivering treatments and rehabilitation programs

  • Provide basic interventions (heat/cold therapy, massage, stretching, supervised exercise)

  • Document patient progress, treatment details, and concerns in medical records

  • Prepare and maintain physiotherapy equipment and treatment areas

  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and assistive devices

  • Communicate with physiotherapy team, nursing staff, and other professionals for continuity of care

  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Assist in preparing health education materials for patients

  • Present physiotherapy topics during monthly continuous medical education sessions

  • Uphold confidentiality, empathy, and ethical standards in patient
    care

  • Demonstrate punctuality and inform administration in advance of schedule changes

    Qualifications

    Education

  • Diploma in Clinical Nursing (required)

  • Additional training in Physiotherapy (advantageous)

    Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ nursing experience, including 2 years in a physiotherapy center

    Skills

  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet applications)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

    Languages

  • Fluency in oral and written English (required)

  • Knowledge of French or another UN language (advantageous)
