Economic Commission for Africa Information Systems Officer Jobs in Ethiopia ;The Information Systems Officer supports UNECA’s mission to deliver ideas and actions for an empowered and transformed Africa, aligned with the 2030 SDGs and Agenda 2063.

The role is located in the Digital and Information Technology Management Section (DITMS) of the Administration and Conference Management Division (ACMD) and reports to the Chief of DITMS.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Frameworks & ICT Projects

  • Oversee compliance audits and monitoring activities.

  • Implement risk management and quality assurance processes.

  • Prepare compliance reports and dashboards.

  • Lead creation and enforcement of ICT governance policies.

  • Define and maintain project management methodologies and workflows.

    Liaison & Financial Management

  • Serve as focal point for governance committees (CAB, ARB, Demand Management).

  • Develop and oversee ICT budgeting, pricing models, and billing processes.

  • Plan and manage fundraising initiatives.

  • Maintain ICT service catalogue and cost recovery management.

    Security, AI & Endpoint Management

  • Lead cybersecurity operations to protect ICT infrastructure and data.

  • Develop and implement AI strategy, including rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot.

  • Manage Microsoft 365 administration, Intune endpoint management, and license lifecycle.

  • Collect and analyze data to provide insights via visualization tools.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.

  • First‑level degree with qualifying experience may be accepted.

  • Completion of data analytics or data science programs is an advantage.

    Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible IT experience.

  • Experience in project implementation and team management required.

  • Experience in IT architecture required.

  • Fundraising experience desirable.

  • Understanding of AI applications desirable.

  • Experience in digital transformation desirable.

  • Experience in data analytics desirable.

    Languages

  • English required.

  • French desirable.
