Eastern Produce Kenya Limited is looking for an experienced, hardworking and pro-active individual to fill the following position.

Eastern Produce Kenya Limited Civil Engineering Technician Jobs: EPKGCW-17/03/2017

The candidate will based at group central workshops, chemomi estate in Nandi hills. His/Her main job purpose will be to ensure that all the buildings and civil engineering work is carried out in EPK Ltd Factories and estates is fully compliant with the EPK Building Standards, Specifications and County and National legal requirements

Main tasks

Design buildings and roads to meet all National Standards, County Building Codes and Regulations

Produce Auto CAD drawings for buildings and roads

To assist the GM Engineering, Factory and Estate managers by preparing cost estimates for building or civil engineering works

Prepare costed bills of Quantities for Civil engineering work

Write detailed building specifications for all Civil engineering work

Obtain the required Planning Permission for all building and road works

Ensure that all National and County Building Regulations have been met before construction commences

Carry out survey work when required

Ensure that the Building Specification and Drawings are being followed

Ensure legal compliance and proper standards on all Civil Engineering work that meets the National and County Building Codes and Regulations

Ensure all new work, maintenance and repair work are completed to the highest standard required by EPK Ltd

Ensure that the correct quality and quantity of materials are used for any building or civil engineering work

Ensure all civil engineering work is within the cost estimate, the contract amount and is completed on time

Prepare a site visit report after each visit and a monthly report on civil engineering work and design

Supervision and management of Estate artisans

Arrange and facilitate Training Sessions to address skills deficit according to Company policies and procedures

Specifications and experience

A Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field

Membership of a relevant body will be an added advantage

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in civil engineering, building design and building constructions

Have knowledge and experience in using AutoCAD software to produce drawings

Be familiar with basic surveying techniques

Have knowledge of
a. Government Building Codes and Planning Regulations

b. Statutory Health and Safety Laws

Be a team player with good interpersonal customer service skills

Be a person of high integrity with excellent organization skills
