Job Purpose

Responsible for all financial, technology, risk management, business process and purchasing activities within the country by implementing overall financial strategy of Eagle Hills, leading financial activities related to projects, monitoring and reporting on financial performance of country and projects.

Lead financial activities related to project development and execution and ensure appropriate control and reporting on project financial performance.

Key Accountability

Responsibilities

  • Define the country’s finance strategy in line with the company’s overall strategy and mission

  • Implement the Finance function’s strategy in the country in alignment with the company’s strategy in order to achieve financial and investment targets

  • Develop the country’s annual budget, CAPEX and OPEX in collaboration with the CFO and in alignment with the overall company’s budget.

  • Review country and projects budgets to ensure alignment with Eagle Hills’ financial targets

  • Provide senior management with data, analysis and expert advice to make informed decisions on critical issues

  • Implement and adapt to local requirements the company’s finance and accounting policies, procedures and principles within the country and projects

  • Develop finance policies and processes when not provided by Head Office

  • Responsible for implementing the Country’s Delegation of Authority

  • Lead the finance function and direct the finance function at country levels

  • Establish the Finance function as a key service provider and partner to the business in support of the country and projects financial strategy

  • Ensure corporate financial and controls are adhered to within the country and projects

  • Establish processes and systems in order to monitor and report on financial performance of the country and its projects

  • Monitor and report on projects financials against approved budgets to ensure delivery of targeted financial returns

  • Implement internal control framework to effectively manage financial risks and safeguard the company’s assets

  • In conjunction with Corporate Finance, develop and implement a strategy for raising funds aimed at minimizing the company’s exposure to risks

  • Engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports, summaries, and forecasts are provided to shareholders, management, banks, and auditors when required

  • Maintain effective working relations with bankers, auditors, and other key external stakeholders

  • Manage financial resources to satisfy the Company’s commitments to shareholders and creditors

    Review and monitor financial activities for projects

  • Oversee all financial aspects of development activities including financial modelling, feasibility analysis, funding, structuring and taxation

  • Review
    research of market conditions, tax regulations, and regulatory regimes and assess impact on project budget, funding and revenues

  • Prepare project budgets while ensuring alignment with the company’s strategy, revenue targets, and investment strategy

  • Develop a funding strategy for projects to maximize profits

  • Develop funding strategies for products in alignment with the overall project funding strategy

  • Review project feasibility studies to make sure they are in line with company’s strategies and objectives and will deliver projected financial returns

  • Contribute to negotiations with 3rd party and preparation of MoUs, Joint Ventures and partnership agreements

  • Review and advise on various strategies that have a financial impact on the project (development strategy, phasing strategy, procurement strategy, cost plans, sales and marketing plans) by providing market and financial information as required

  • Provide timely updates on financial data for each country and project

  • Prepare month-end closing financial performance reports and project reports

  • Escalate financial issues to the CFO when required

  • Approve large value payments for suppliers, contractors and consultants in-line with Company’s Authority Matrix, and seek approval from the CFO when needed

    Align the procurement and IT strategic in line with the company’s overall strategy and mission

  • Ensure IT and procurement structure is positioned as a key service provider and partner to the business as per Eagle Hills’ long term technical operating strategy

  • Monitor the IT and procurement budget, technology investments, IT and procurement roadmap, governance and business partners

  • Ensure IT security, data management, ERP, network and digital requirements and services implement the required infrastructure, applications, technology and resources

  • Ensure procurement Oracle, purchasing and contract requirements are aligned with DoA

  • External: Banks, subsidiary and associate companies, and third party customers

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting

  • Qualified accountant CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent

    Preferred Experience:

  • 10 - 12 years of experience in finance for a real estate development / construction

  • 8 years of experience in a managerial position

    Job Specific Skills:

  • Excellent and proven financial and business acumen

  • Proven experience leading large and complex financial portfolio

  • Exposure to investment, real estate and emerging sectors
