We are looking for motivated and qualified professionals to fill the position of Sales & Business Development Officer.
Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Sales & Business Development Officer is responsible for the delivery and achievement of set sales targets through identification of new opportunities, effective selling and closing sales, excellent customer service, retention of existing business and execution of operational services to customers at the company.Revenue and profit generation, including new business development for the company
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business from identified target sectors
Ensuring that all Active Policies are renewed on expiry
Maintain a Retention Rate of 90% of existing Active Policies by creating long term relationships with our clients
Ensure all Agents with Smartphones have downloaded the Mobile App and are active
Ensure growth per product line as per agreed budget
Identifying and recruitment of qualified insurance Agents in your branch in an effort to establish a commendable in house agency for our target business.
Develop targets and budgets for production per insurance intermediary and ensure that the said identified and allocated insurance intermediaries meet their targets.
Enhancing strong business ties with the independent insurance agents with a view of attaining a profitable business relationship.
Customer retention by creating long term relationships with our clients.
Providing and follow up of quotations on request for the various products.
Ensuring customer satisfaction and handling any issues that the intermediary may have with the company.
Ensure that the said identified and allocated insurance intermediaries meet their targets.
Promote the company’s products/services in general.
Act as the primary and principle liaison between the said insurance intermediaries and the company in all aspects of their business with the company.
Ensure delivery of high quality and timely reporting and sales strategy
Manage the Customer Service Assistants – Sales team
Any other responsibilities that will be communicated from time to time.
Academic QualificationsMaster’s degree preferably MBA will be an added advantage
University degree preferably business related from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education
Minimum Overall Grade of C+ in KCSE
Professional QualificationsAIIK Diploma/CII Diploma/Diploma in Insurance-College of Insurance or any insurance related qualification.
ExperienceMust have 3 years in Sales of PSV & non-PSV insurance products preferably within an Insurance Company OR Intermediary.
Experience in Motor – PSV will be an added advantage.
Demonstrable consistent track record in achieving sales targets
Has excellent Insurance Market intelligence (local, regional and international)
Business/Department strategy formulation and execution
Skills and Attributes
Excellent Sales skills
High integrity and ethical level; Able to maintain utmost confidentiality of information in their possession
Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
Self-motivated, confident and outgoing personality
Ability to network and generate new business and client relationship skills
Sound knowledge of the Insurance Industry and products
Have great attention to detail and able to get things done to completion
