Key Responsibilities

Grant Management

  • Follow up on budgets from partners, examine them and ensure they are received promptly and are authentic.
  • Ensure partners are notified of any discrepancies in the budgets and supporting documents and they are rectified.
  • Follow up on partner reports examine and ensure that they comply with grant agreements.
  • Ensure partners are notified of any discrepancies in the financial reports in good time and that they are rectified.
  • Verify that the financial reports approved from partners are duly uploaded or recorded in PHS.

    Financial Management
  • Verify that financial reports received from partners are appropriately archived.
  • Maintain a monitoring log in respect of financial information due from partner organizations.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports in respect of the regional office.
  • Maintain an up to date inventory and fixed assets register for the regional office.
  • Conduct annual inventory in respect of the regional office.
  • Perform any other duties as maybe delegated from time to time.

    Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field (Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Arts) or other relevant field.
  • A minimum three years’ experience in a busy accounts office.
  • A qualification leading to certificates in basic parts of professional accounting examinations - Chartered/Certified Accountant or other comparable/equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to maintain accounting records, analyze and prepare reports.
  • Ability
    to operate computer assisted accounting and other packages is also mandatory
  • Sufficient knowledge of accounting and book keeping
  • Working knowledge of computerized accounting and other computer application packages
  • High level of integrity to be able to handle assets, cash and cash related transactions.
  • Good interpersonal skills to be able to relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Attention to detail to be able to scrutinize budgets and reports.
  • Planning and organizing ability to be able to accomplish tasks, file and retrieve reports and accounting documents
  • Effective communication both oral and written
  • Good organizing skills in order to schedule and prepare reports, classify, archive and retrieve documents within required time frames
