DFCU Bank Transactional Banking Officer Jobs in Uganda


  • The role is responsible for driving utilization and penetration of Internet Banking and other Transactional Banking Solutions to the Corporate Banking customers including: – Utility Payments, E Tax, focusing on Payables Management and Receivables (Collections) Management.

    Key Accountabilities:

  • Drive utilisation and penetration of dfcu QuickBanking through continuous enrolment of customers on dfcu QuickBanking and reactivation of dormant accounts.

  • Increase product penetration through dfcu QuickBanking usage for the customers under management by reviewing their portfolio to determine potential cross sells and proactively recommend new products to customers and hence increase bank revenue.

  • Conduct regular face-to-face customer visits/social events as part of establishing potential business partners and increasing visibility of the Internet Banking Product.

  • Comply with KYC requirements in line with the Bank and Risk management policy.

  • Managing retention of customers by supporting their internet banking needs.

  • Through regular customer surveys (formally and informally), identify any broader issues in the customer base relating to pricing, product promotions and product features. Feed any identified trends back to the Manager Transaction Banking for further follow-up.

  • Continuously monitor growth of the Internet Banking corporate proposition and identify any areas for improvement.

  • Attend to day-day + medium term Internet Banking needs of Development and Institutional Banking customers.

  • Give support to the branches for increased productivity in Internet Banking.

  • Together with branches, manage Internet Banking utilisation and penetration in Corporate portfolios.

  • Keep in line with changing market trends and devise better ways of supporting Internet Banking initiatives of the Bank.

  • Maintain high level of customer service, to maximize product utilization and benefit realization.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with 3 years working experience in a sales related role.

  • Computer Knowledge.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Bank products, services, channels, operations, policies and any
    other specialist roles.

  • Good knowledge of the Bank’s systems & products especially Corporate and Transaction Banking

  • Industry and business awareness on Electronic Platforms.

  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, Personal organisation e.g., diary management.

  • Good organisation & teamwork (Winning together) skills.

  • Good selling, negotiation & influencing skills.

  • High-level of integrity and strong entrepreneurial skills.

  • Self-drive and initiative.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information clearly and appropriately handle sensitive information.

  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented individual who is capable of self-managing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business priorities and a strong work ethic.
