Minimising risks to our staff is the highest priority. In order to achieve this, GIZ implements in its partner countries, in particular in countries with high risks, professional risk management systems. Security Risk Advisors (m/f/d) contribute to the safety of our staff and operations and thereby support the successful implementation of development programmes and cooperation.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance and further development a professional security risk management (SRM) system in order to adapt it to the local/regional context

Continuous analysis of the security situation at your location/region in general and at project implementation sites in particular

Collection and evaluation of relevant information on the local situation and transfer results to the context of development cooperation
Development of conflict and actor analyses, regular situation reports, district profiles and further research documents, in particular incident reports

Responsibility for all aspects of everyday SRM operations in a volatile security environment, including potential emergency and evacuation scenarios

Maintain connections to multiple actors such as local and national authorities as well as international government and

non-government organizations and advice regarding the security of GIZ infrastructure

Information of employees about changes in the security situation and implement directives for the protection of staff

In case of emergency, support of the country director in crisis management
