    Job Description

    Main Purpose of Job

  • Responsible for the Functional support tasks of the SAP modules in the ERP Centre of Excellence Function by assisting in user support, Project Services projects and new scope item management for the SAP ERP solution.

    Key Performance Areas:

    Management of SAP Calls

  • Manage and resolve SAP calls by using QA system to test solution such as:
  • Very High calls - employees struggling with the system in terms of Billing
  • High Calls – Impact on posting of invoices
  • Ensure all calls waiting in customer are followed up and closed on ServiceNow and SAP vendor
  • Interact with Clients (The Business and SAP vendor) through meetings, calls, and emails to provide regular update on SAP calls

    Resolution of User queries / Client Service Excellence

  • Handle Project Services calls and close within SLA
  • Review Daily internal Dashboard (ServiceNow calls) and email queues (Budget and forecast) by analysing and Trouble Shooting User queries
  • Interact with Clients in and across Africa and manage issues, concerns, questions raised on the systems we support, i.e., Moja, blackline, concur and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
  • Use external sources such as SAP Help, SAP Community, SAP Best practice, and Google to assist in query resolution

    Performing Testing - Conduct User Acceptance Testing

  • Perform User Acceptance testing (UAT) on changes made when resolving incidents and request calls for instance Very High, High, Medium, and Low call priorities. This form of testing needs to happen before changes are deployed to the live system
  • If any issues identified by the user during UAT, the user would report these back to the SAP CoE team to resolve, once resolved the user will continue UAT
  • Prepare Scope Item Test Scripts and share test scripts with clients (business) to use during UAT
  • Conduct Integration testing with other SAP Modules e.g., integration between
  • S/4 HANA and SuccessFactors regarding employee master data to ensure that financial postings can occur

    Attend Community of Practice meetings with Business

  • Builds business relationships with clients (Business process owners) by understanding Business requirements, business issues and formulate road maps and strategic plans

    Monitor and manage all error logs on the system

  • Conduct audits on Adhoc data and processes to ensure that we mitigate risks, and the system has updated data
  • Review system and business processes to identify areas of improvement and ensure efficiencies
  • Review and resolve system Error logs. If these errors cannot be resolved they can be escalated to senior consultant for assistance e.g., Very High calls

    Data Quality and Governance facilitation

  • Conducting adhoc data quality audits on specific areas i.e., Master Data, General Ledger Accounts to ensure data is accurate
  • Notification of issues for instance
    Very High calls to the SAP Senior Consultant
  • Conducting Monthly checks on all aspects of data i.e., Master Data, General Ledger profit centre and cost centres to ensure date is accurate
  • Review of Error logs and provide recommendations on how to resolve these error logs. E.g., Very High calls
  • Report any risks identified during the audit to the Senior Manager to log on the risk register so that actions can be taken to mitigate the risks

    Configuration and Development

  • Use Technical development skills to update functionality in SAP and activate new scope items
  • Liaise with Business to test changes, new scope items and any new feature on Moja system and do a change control to transport the abovementioned to the Production system
  • Where a new scope item requires procurement of licenses, the Senior Manager needs to be made aware and assist in the procurement of such licenses

    Take changes into Production Environment

  • Log a call on Service Now (Change Control request - CAB)
  • Make sure all artefacts are attached to the call
  • Get Business Process owner approval
  • Attach all test scripts
  • Move the changes to production

    Training

  • Conduct ERP Module training when requested by user or client
  • Assist the ERP Senior Consultant on SAP training when he or she does not have capacity to conduct the trainings

    Perform Research on New Scope items and Innovation of new RPA (Robotics and Digital insights)

  • Review articles on SAP websites (knowledge-based articles) to understand system functionality
  • Attend SAP Webinars to understand new system functionality as part of SAP quarterly release update
  • Participate in Value realization workshops with SAP experts and Business Process owners (senior level)

    Project work – Unit Testing for the project

  • Attend project status update meeting to provide an update on assigned tasks
  • Attend project workshops to gather requirement and action items and tasks that you should perform and how those would contribute the entire projects
  • Perform testing on the solution to ensure alignment to business requirements
  • Communicate regularly with Project Manager and team members on status of own deliverables

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree (3 years) or National Diploma in IT related course

    Minimum Experience

  • At least two years IT experience and 3 years Functional knowledge in at least 1 key module of SAP ERP such as Finance, Procurement or Engagement Management.
  • Previous SAP experience
  • Background in Finance with business or IT
  • Knowledge in the specific Process Area

    Technical competencies

  • Sound technical knowledge in specific functional area
  • Effective client interaction, analysis, and project management skills
  • Experience in drafting of presentations and reports for review
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Basic financial knowledge and understanding
  • Sound working knowledge of SAP Module
  • Ability to document Functional Specification
  • Ability to understand Technical Design Specifications
  • Configuration knowledge for SAP Module.
  • Working knowledge of Deloitte implementation of SAP modules and test scripts.
  • Configuration understanding
