DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd Google Cloud Data Engineer Jobs in South Africa;We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong Google Cloud expertise to join a dynamic technology team on a 12‑month contract.

This is a hands‑on role working with cloud‑based data platforms, pipelines and large datasets.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering

  • Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and solutions on GCP.

  • Develop and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines and workflows.

  • Work with large datasets to support business and analytical needs.

  • Develop data integration and transformation solutions.

  • Ensure data quality, reliability, security and performance.

  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, analysts and stakeholders.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and platform issues.

    Requirements

  • Proven experience as Data Engineer in enterprise environment.

  • Hands‑on GCP experience.

  • Strong SQL and data engineering skills.

  • BigQuery expertise.

  • Strong Python experience.

  • Experience building/supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.

  • Data modelling and integration experience.

  • Experience with GCP services (Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Pub/Sub).

  • Understanding of cloud‑based data architecture and best practices.

  • Agile environment experience.

    Advantageous

  • Terraform, CI/CD, Git, Kafka, dbt.

  • Experience with Azure or AWS data platforms.

    Ideal Candidate

  • Strong business acumen and end‑to‑end supply chain understanding.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate reporting and insights.
