Danish Refugee Council Team Leader - Climate and Food Security Jobs in Uganda;Provide technical quality assurance and due diligence for all outcome activities under DRC’s Food Systems and Economic Self‑Reliance project in six districts. Ensure appropriateness and quality of interventions, support farmer group trainings, restoration projects, staff management and stakeholder coordination to achieve project results.

Responsibilities

Administrative Role

  • Oversee day‑to‑day coordination and management of project activities.

  • Align programme activities with donor requirements and government plans.

  • Supervise staff and manage relationships with implementing partners.

  • Support budgeting, financial management and reporting.

  • Represent programme in coordination forums and donor meetings.

  • Ensure compliance with DRC policies and procedures.

    Technical Leadership & Programme Quality

  • Provide technical leadership across food systems and resilience interventions.

  • Oversee climate‑smart agriculture, regenerative practices and farmer learning.

  • Ensure nutrition‑sensitive approaches including kitchen gardening and permaculture.

  • Provide oversight to market systems and financial inclusion interventions.

  • Guide natural resource and ecosystem management interventions.

  • Ensure sustainability of alternative livelihoods (beekeeping, fish farming, solar irrigation, tree nurseries, clean energy).

  • Integrate gender equality, youth and disability inclusion.

  • Strengthen farmer groups, extension structures and government relationships.

  • Facilitate access to technical expertise and training.

  • Prepare quality progress reports aligned with annual work plans.

    Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)

  • Work with MEAL staff to operationalise MEAL framework.

  • Ensure timely collection, analysis and use of project data.

  • Support accountability and feedback mechanisms for participants.

  • Document results, success stories, lessons learned and good practices.

    Team & Resource Management

  • Provide clear technical and managerial direction to staff.

  • Supervise, coach and manage performance of direct reports.

  • Ensure efficient use of financial, human and operational resources.

  • Foster collaborative and accountable working environment.

    Coordination, Partnerships & Representation

  • Engage with District and Local Government stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with technical departments to strengthen alignment and sustainability.

  • Represent DRC in donor engagements, forums and technical working groups.

  • Strengthen engagement with farmer groups, women and youth structures.

  • Facilitate private‑sector partnerships to improve market access.

  • Coordinate with humanitarian and development actors to promote complementarity.

  • Lead joint monitoring, supervision and learning visits with stakeholders.

  • Maintain linkages with other DRC programmes for shared learning.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required • Master’s preferred.

    Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in food security, agriculture or livelihoods programming.

  • At least 2 years in project management or technical leadership.

  • Experience managing complex projects, budgets and donor reporting.

  • Strong knowledge of climate‑resilient agriculture and market‑oriented livelihoods.

  • Experience working with government, private sector and community structures.

  • Ability to integrate gender, inclusion and safeguarding.

    Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

  • Knowledge of project cycle management and results‑based management.

  • Full professional proficiency in English.

    Desirable

  • Professional training in project management or climate‑smart agriculture.

  • Knowledge of local languages in project areas.
