Danish Refugee Council ReDSS Kenya Policy Coordinator Jobs in Kenya;Responsible for implementing ReDSS Kenya’s advocacy and policy strategy at national and county levels, engaging stakeholders to ensure sustainable solutions for refugees and host communities. The role supports overall development of ReDSS’ work in Kenya, represents members in forums, and strengthens partnerships with government, civil society, and refugee‑led organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Advocacy & Policy Influencing

  • Implement and monitor ReDSS Kenya advocacy strategies at national and county levels.

  • Monitor and analyze legislation and policy changes; provide timely analysis and recommendations.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with government, humanitarian, development, and civil society stakeholders.

  • Translate evidence and learning into advocacy positions and policy recommendations.

    Capacity Strengthening & Learning

  • Strengthen capacities of local authorities and stakeholders to develop integrated approaches.

  • Support cross‑learning and peer exchanges between displacement‑affected counties (Garissa, Turkana, Nairobi).

  • Build meaningful partnerships with local networks and organizations.

  • Ensure ReDSS research informs policy and programming on refugee solutions.

    Refugee Leadership & Accountability

  • Engage Refugee‑Led Organizations and leadership to prioritize community voices in policy processes.

  • Lead initiatives ensuring local policy planning reflects community needs.

  • Implement ReDSS accountability framework and document best practices.

  • Analyze community engagement data and report findings to members and partners.

    Support Development of ReDSS Kenya Unit

  • Support operational plan development, implementation, and monitoring.

  • Contribute to periodic reviews, reporting, and adaptive planning.

  • Coordinate with partners to ensure delivery of workplan.

  • Ensure compliance with DRC procedures and systems.

    Qualifications / Experience

  • University degree in
    Law, Political Science, International Relations; Master’s preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in policy coordination, evidence building, and analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of socio‑economic and political dynamics, displacement trends, and sensitive contexts.

  • Experience managing multi‑stakeholder initiatives with national and international partners.

  • Solid experience in capacity development, mentoring, coaching, and training.

  • Proven ability to work in multicultural environments and build effective relationships.

  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills; ability to produce high‑quality briefs.

  • Experience translating evidence into programming and policy guidance.

  • IT proficiency, including website management and ICT for knowledge management.

  • Flexibility, proactive engagement, and ability to work under pressure.

  • One‑year contract with possibility of extension (subject to funding and performance).
