Danish Refugee Council Protection Coordinator Jobs in Nigeria;Formulate technical strategy for DRC Nigeria to address root causes of displacement, contribute to durable solutions and enhance protection of hard‑to‑reach populations. Provide technical advisory, represent DRC in technical fora, strengthen partnerships and support fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

Technical Coordination & Advisory

  • Provide technical advisory to implementation and Country Office teams.

  • Lead creation and rollout of technical strategy.

  • Support Head of Programmes in developing Country Strategy.

  • Provide technical inputs to proposals, reports and assessments.

  • Deliver capacity building to teams and partners.

  • Prepare learning products, SoPs and guidelines.

  • Guide teams on protection incident reports and monitoring.

  • Conduct sector capacity gap analysis and design strengthening initiatives.

  • Analyse Nigeria Protection sector challenges and trends.

    Representation, Fundraising & Advocacy

  • Lead DRC’s Protection representation in clusters and working groups.

  • Engage with NGOs, donors and government stakeholders.

  • Seek new partnerships and funding opportunities.

  • Produce advocacy materials to promote awareness and fundraising.

  • Interact with global and regional Protection initiatives.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

    Experience

  • 5+ years in Protection, 3+ years at senior technical level.

  • Experience in proposal/report writing, SoPs and guidelines.

  • Proven representation in clusters and advocacy initiatives.

  • In‑depth experience in Protection Monitoring, case management, PSS, legal assistance, GBV and advocacy.

  • Knowledge of humanitarian architecture and sectoral best practices.

  • Full professional proficiency in English.

  • Strong analytical, communication and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work in multinational and multicultural environments.

  • Proactivity, collaboration and adaptability.

  • Exemplary ethics, integrity and team orientation.

  • Good sense of humour.

    Desirable

  • Experience with capacity building for national partners.

  • Prior knowledge of Nigeria context.

  • Fluency in French.
