Danish Refugee Council Partnerships and Grants Manager Jobs in Uganda;The Partnerships & Grants Manager provides senior leadership and oversight across the full grants and partnerships portfolio of the Sudan Crisis Localization Fund. The role ensures strategic direction, compliance, and quality across the grants lifecycle, while managing the Partnerships & Grants Specialists and Officers.

The Manager operationalizes the Fund’s locally led approach, guiding partners and maintaining accountability to donors and Fund standards.

Key Responsibilities

Grants & Partnership Coordination

  • Develop and manage grant application processes, guidelines, templates, and evaluation criteria.

  • Lead due diligence and vetting of partner organizations.

  • Prepare and administer grant agreements and amendments.

  • Design and oversee capacity‑building support for partners.

  • Line manage and mentor Partnerships & Grants Officers.

    Grants Management & Compliance

  • Oversee development and roll‑out of the Fund Grant Management System.

  • Coordinate with Operations Manager on disbursements, financial tracking, and risk management.

  • Ensure partner compliance with grant conditions and donor requirements.

  • Update and maintain Fund risk register and dashboard.

  • Track disbursements against budgets and escalate risks.

  • Monitor grant implementation and reporting.

    Technical Support & Capacity Building

  • Design capacity‑building strategies for partners.

  • Support training on
    donor compliance, procurement, and reporting.

    Administrative Support & Reporting

  • Ensure secure storage of grant documents in GMS.

  • Maintain detailed records of grants, applications, and reports.

  • Coordinate review meetings with partners and follow up on action points.

    Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with donor representatives to ensure compliance.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Technical, MEAL, Operations).

  • Represent the Fund with local intermediary actors in Sudan.

    About You

    Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Political Science, or related field.

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in partnerships & grants, including 3 years in management.

  • Proven expertise with institutional donors (FCDO, EU, ECHO, SIDA, NORAD).

  • Strong understanding of donor regulations and compliance.

  • Demonstrated people management experience.

  • Experience working in or on Sudan, with knowledge of humanitarian and civil society context.

  • Commitment to locally led approaches and grassroots organizations.

  • Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics, SAP, Oracle).

  • Familiarity with Power Apps or internal grants systems.

  • Experience in partnership management or capacity building.

  • Experience with Group Cash Transfer mechanisms or cash‑based programming.
