Danish Refugee Council MEAL Officer Jobs in Uganda;Ensure effective implementation of MEAL system for DRC’s Food Systems and Economic Self‑Reliance project. Provide systematic monitoring, quality data collection, analysis, reporting, accountability and learning to generate credible evidence for decision‑making, adaptive management and donor compliance.
Responsibilities
Monitoring, Data Collection & Quality Assurance
Implement and maintain MEAL framework, indicators and tools.
Monitor and verify activities and results reported by partners.
Conduct field monitoring, spot checks and outcome assessments.
Design and manage digital data collection tools.
Clean, analyse and validate data against source documents.
Conduct routine data quality assessments and follow up on gaps.
Performance & Results Tracking
Maintain indicator tracking systems and monitor progress.
Track results from activity to outcome level.
Monitor partner performance against milestones.
Prepare dashboards and performance summaries.
Analyse trends and identify risks or underperformance.
Accountability, Learning & Adaptive Management
Coordinate feedback and complaints mechanisms.
Support After Action Reviews and reflection activities.
Document success stories, lessons learned and evidence of change.
Use monitoring findings to inform programme improvement.
Partner Support & Reporting
Provide technical MEAL support to partners.
Support partners to use MEAL data for decision‑making.
Participate in partner monitoring and verification visits.
Contribute to timely donor
and learning reports.
Data Management & Compliance
Maintain secure and accurate project databases.
Ensure compliance with DRC MEAL standards and donor requirements.
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection principles.
Evaluation
Support baseline, mid‑term, endline and other assessments.
Contribute to data collection, analysis and dissemination of findings.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree required • Postgraduate Diploma in M&E desirable.
Experience
Minimum 5 years in MEAL/M&E or programme monitoring.
Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and reporting.
Experience with digital platforms (KoboToolbox/ODK).
Proficiency in PowerBi and Excel (Pivot Tables, data analysis).
Experience developing indicator tracking tools.
Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical, communication and report‑writing skills.
Ability to work independently in field settings.
Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and confidentiality.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Desirable
Knowledge of local languages in project areas.
Experience working with local partners or government.

Contract length: 12 months.
