Danish Refugee Council Economic Recovery Coordinator Jobs in Uganda;The Economic Recovery Coordinator will provide technical support to DRC and partner teams through capacity building, coaching and monitoring of programme implementation for all economic recovery activities.

The role covers food security, livelihoods, market systems and financial inclusion, and supervises the development and implementation of the Country Economic Recovery strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Coordination and Advisory

  • Provide technical advisory to implementation teams at all stages.

  • Lead creation and roll‑out of technical strategy.

  • Support Head of Programme in reviewing Country Programme Strategy.

  • Provide technical inputs to proposals, reports, assessments and evaluations.

  • Build capacity of teams and partners in CVA and MSA approaches.

  • Prepare learning products, SOPs and guidelines.

  • Conduct sector capacity gap analysis and design initiatives.

  • Analyse Uganda EcRec sector challenges, trends and outcomes.

  • Support recruitment of qualified technical staff.

  • Support MEAL Manager in rolling out monitoring and evaluation approaches.

    Representation, Fundraising and Advocacy

  • Lead DRC’s EcRec representation in relevant sectors and working groups.

  • Engage stakeholders to promote EcRec programme and fundraising.

  • Seek new partnerships and funding opportunities.

  • Produce advocacy materials for awareness and partnerships.

  • Interact with global and regional initiatives.

  • Contribute to business development initiatives.

    Coordination, Representation & Advocacy

  • Represent DRC at technical coordination forums.

  • Maintain close relationships with technical leads within DRC Uganda, HQ Hub and HQ.

  • Promote DRC’s advocacy messages in coordination forums.

  • Carry out other duties as requested by Head of Programme.

    About You

  • Minimum 5
    years’ practical humanitarian experience in food security, livelihoods, agriculture and financial inclusion.

  • Strong experience implementing livelihoods and financial inclusion interventions.

  • Master’s degree in political science, international development, economic studies or related fields.

  • Practical experience in concepts and methodologies for Economic Recovery.

  • Knowledge of cash‑based assistance programme design and evaluation.

  • Market assessment and analysis skills.

  • Programme planning and proposal development including budgeting.

  • Experience providing direct and remote technical support.

  • Experience working with local partners, authorities and INGOs in consortiums.

  • Understanding of trends in economic recovery: self‑sufficiency, graduation approach, partnerships and innovation.

  • Full professional proficiency in English with excellent writing skills.

  • Experience facilitating training in graduation approach, agriculture, IGAs, business plans and entrepreneurship.

  • Previous refugee response experience in Uganda.

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly.

  • Knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standards.
