Danish Red Cross Internship Management Programme Jobs in Malawi; The purpose of the internship is to learn about humanitarian work and programme management, including professional relationships with partners, project budget management, donor relations, brand awareness, humanitarian vocabulary, and more. This is learned by shadowing and providing support to the Danish Red Cross (DRC) in a field office under the line management of the DRC Country Manager and the guidance of the supervisor.

Learning Objectives
Understand the humanitarian context and programme management by shadowing the day-to-day work of the team. Assist with proposal/report writing, infographics, data collection, and practical arrangements for field visits and workshops.
Learn humanitarian communication and collaboration by joining internal and external meetings, supporting with minutes, and following up on action points.
Understand the impact of humanitarian work by supporting technical areas such as data collection, processing, and documenting individual stories from affected populations.
Learn the role of branding in public funding by creating social media posts to support DRC’s public image and arranging practical aspects of foreign
visitors.
Gain knowledge of donor relations and humanitarian funding (e.g., ECHO, DANIDA) by assisting with logical frameworks, reporting, communication, and project budget management.
Qualifications
Required
Enrolled at a relevant Danish university program with internship included (credited ECTS).
Academic background in social science, disaster management, political science, African studies, development studies, or similar.
Believe in and adhere to the Red Cross Red Crescent 7 fundamental principles.
Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
Keen interest in development and humanitarian work.
Proficient in MS Office and able to quickly learn new digital platforms.
Excellent report writing and communication skills, adaptable to professional and non-academic language.
Cultural sensitivity and experience in multicultural settings.
Compliant with organizational rules and regulations (Code of Conduct, Principles and guidelines, local security protocols).
Preferred
Danish language skills (strong preference).
Previous volunteering or work experience with the Red Cross/Crescent movement or other humanitarian organizations.
Valid international driver’s license.
