Danish Red Cross Health Programme Manager Jobs in Malawi; The Health Programme Manager supports Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) in planning, coordination, implementation, quality assurance, and reporting of the Community Resilience Programme (COMREP) and the ECHO Nutrition and Health Response Consortium. The role also provides technical guidance for outbreak preparedness, emergency response, and related health initiatives.

Responsibilities

Programme Oversight

  • Partner with MRCS to oversee COMREP and ECHO funded projects.

  • Provide technical guidance and build MRCS capacity in health thematic areas.

  • Coordinate thematic input from consortium partners.

    Consortium Coordination
  • Collaborate with Icelandic Red Cross on COMREP implementation, reporting, and evaluation.

  • Coordinate youth activities and exchanges with Danish Red Cross Youth.

  • Liaise with RCRC Livelihoods Resource Centre for technical support.

  • Work with Save the Children and partners under ECHO emergency response.

    Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with donor and DRC reporting requirements.

  • Spearhead COMREP steering group committee meetings.

  • Provide guidance and support to MRCS COMREP team.

    Emergency Response
  • Coordinate and monitor emergency interventions.

  • Integrate intersectional approaches (CVA, MHPSS, NCD, PGI, CEA).

  • Support new project initiatives to expand Malawi portfolio.

    Qualifications & Competencies

    Required
  • Valid work permit in Malawi.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public/Global Health or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, reporting, and financial management.

  • Proven experience in project design and
    proposal writing.

  • Technical expertise in health sector.

  • Experience in partnership building and coordination.

  • Experience implementing EU/ECHO financed actions.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to simplify technical concepts for partners.

  • Flexible, self‑motivated, and innovative.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Fluent in English.

    Preferred
  • Experience with Red Cross/Red Crescent.

  • Knowledge of Community Based Health and First Aid approaches.

  • Primary Health Care experience (promotion, prevention, reproductive health).

  • Experience in Livelihoods and Youth Empowerment.

  • Programme Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (PMEAL).

  • Facilitation and knowledge transfer skills.

  • Valid driver’s licence.
