As the Market Research e-volunteer, you will support the project volunteers working as Core Business Management Advisors with market research analysis on rice in Tanzania as a critical value chain. The overall objective will be to synthesize your findings to produce a market research report.


Through this e-volunteer role, you will be contributing to the Tanzania Local Enterprise Development (T-LED) project. A current T-LED volunteer will serve as your main point of contact and will assist by introducing you to some key stakeholders in Tanzania to facilitate your analysis, as well as providing feedback on your findings.


Bring your research and evaluation skills to this e-volunteer position and help T-LED-supported entrepreneurs unlock new opportunities in the rice value chain!


Responsibilities


  • Review existing market assessments on rice conducted by T-LED team and/or other organizations including price control policies, etc.
  • Identify and map potential local markets of rice in terms of location/region, type, size, volume, products, supply chain, producers, suppliers, transport, market associations.


    Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree or its /Equivalent in Business, Marketing, Development studies or related field
  • Demonstrated skills in research methodologies: qualitative, quantitative
  • Evidence of researcher’s in-depth knowledge of market and value chain processes
  • Knowledge of value chain methodologies, agriculture commodities and special commodities markets
  • Demonstrated experience of collaborating in a multicultural and diverse environment
