Job Title: Chief Financial Officer – Manufacturing
Location:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of high quality furniture, mattresses and linen in Kenya.
They have been offering Mattresses, Beds and Accessories to the East African Market for over 40 years.
They are seeking to hire a dynamic and hands on Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & talent management

Sets clear goals and objectives for each member of the finance team including personal development objectives for immediate direct reports
Leads by example setting exceptional standards of safety, quality and internal/external customer service
Strong, proactive communicator that supports good data flow and allows for best decisions to be made by MD and Board.
Lead the Finance Department by continuously interacting, engaging and involving with all operational teams to ensure that the business is well funded and at all times, stays focused on ROI, liquidity, profitability, cost reduction and lean management across all functions
Review, monitor, manage and control all accounting, finance, banking functions and ensures that all statutory compliances and obligations are met within deadlines
Engages actively in the transference of knowledge and expertise to others
Continuously implements best practices in accounting and finance through established accounting policies, systems and processes and displays expertise in the use of financial & project management tools which integrate with business KPIs
Financial Reporting, Planning, Budgeting, Audit & other financial responsibilities
Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit with the approved external auditor
File accurate monthly statutory returns which include VAT,WHT,KEBS, NHIF, NSSF and PAYE
Manage the working capital requirements and submit weekly reports covering bank balances,
creditors and debtors dashboards
Prepare end of month board reports with KPI’s
Internal audit review on systems and processes
Maintain tight control over inventory, procurement, project expenses and ensure that projects deliver and perform within budgets, BoQ pricing and other relevant functions that cover the business operating cycle
Preparing annual financial Plan and budgets
Strategic financial management and advisory to CEO, COO and Board
Financial risk management – foreign currency hedging, interest rate etc
Investigate ways of being cost efficient and effective
Research asset procurement decisions
Tax planning and advisory
Liaise with banking & financial institutions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting or related field
5 – 8 years’ experience in a senior role
MUST have at least worked in either of the following sectors : Manufacturing (non -consumables),
Must have had at least 3 direct reports
A seasoned networker with the ability to engage government institutions and other relevant institutions at various levels
Strong personality with excellent negotiation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiar with project management dynamics
