  • An established yet still aspirational firm based in Australia are looking to grow their African team with an underground-focused Mine Foreman to train, mentor and help upskill the national workforce in best-practice underground mining standards. .

    The main accountabilities / skills for the role include, but are not limited to

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar supervisory role

    • WA Underground Supervisor’s certificate of competency or equivalent

    • Strong understanding of, and experience with, modern techniques within mechanized mining

    • A track record in planning and coordinating the activities of multiple teams and supervising a large, modern fleet

    • Adherence to mining laws and safety regulations, and ability to issue directives to workers to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations

    • Proven ability to review and consolidate records, such as safety reports and production records.

    • Plan mining activities in accordance with the respective Mines Act & all Safety / Environmental regulations in-country

    • Ability to represent the organisation with contractors, consultants and senior stakeholders

    • Assist with ensuring expectations are realistic and projected targets are achieved safely and to specifications

    • Previous experience acting as Relief or 2IC Site Manager during their R&R would be highly regarded.
