Job summary

  • Under the direction of the Operations Manager- Commodities and Non-Food Items (NFI), you will oversee the logistics of USAID Food for Peace (FFP) donated Title II food commodities and program NFIs in the supply chain unit for the Resilience and Food Security Program (RFSP) in Greater Jonglei.

  • You will supervise all supply chain logistical operations and provide strategic and tactical leadership to the RFSP Logistics Unit to ensure efficiency, accountability and transparency of logistics management processes.
  • Under the direction of the Operations Manager- Commodities and NFIs, you will plan, organize and supervise all activities relating to the program’s sourcing and logistics cycle, in compliance with CRS established standards, supply chain best practices, USAID donor requirements and local laws.

  • Your commodity and NFI operations and inventory management skills and knowledge will ensure that the RFSP negotiates and contr acts effectively and cost-efficiently for the provision of warehouse facilities, secondary transportation, fumigation and related logistics services.

  • You will oversee the warehousing, management and distribution of food commodities by both RFSP consortium partners, including carrying out monitoring, assessment and capacity strengthening activities.

  • You will lead and implement inventory management of program NFIs for CRS in RFSP, including preparation and validation of the monthly inventor reports for NFIs and ensuring implementation by county level RFSP teams with CRS policy on accountable inventory.

  • You will coordinate closely with the program and finance teams on planning and implementing the allocation, pre-positioning, warehousing, transportation, distribution and reporting of food commodity and program NFIs.

  • You will provide training and supervision to the warehouse and logistics teams in all the counties where RFSP is operation in Jonglei.

    Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in development, management, accounting or related field required. Additional experience may substitute for some education.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant field-based experience in coordinating or managing light to moderately complex projects required, preferably with an international NGO.

  • Preferably, a minimum of 3 years of experience in field-based, direct implementation of food commodity logistics operations management, warehousing and distribution management, and commodity accounting under USAID Title II.

  • Required Languages - English

    Travel

  • Must be willing and able to travel
    up to 60% of the time.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Staff management experience and abilities that are conducive to a learning environment.

  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information management systems.
