Registered Clinical Officer Requirements for Appointment

  • Served in the grade of Registered Clinical Officer II, for a minimum period of three (3) years;

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution;

  • Diploma Certificate in Ophthalmology;

  • Certificate of Registered from the Clinical Officers’ Council;

  • Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution; and

  • Shown merit as reflected in work performance and results.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Taking history, examining, diagnosing and treating patients;

  • Assessing, preparing and presenting medico-legal reports on patients;

  • Guiding and counseling patients;

  • Preparing and management of patients for ophthalmological procedures;

  • Organizing medical teams and convening health management committee;
