Vihiga County Public Service Board is a Body corporate established under section 57 of the County Government Act 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Section 59 of the County Government Act 2012 outlines the functions of the Board.

Pursuant to Constitution and Legal provisions Vihiga County Public Service Board invites applications from qualified persons for the following position:

Director of Environmental Services

Salary scale as per the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Environmental policies are well implemented and any Environmental campaigns are
    effective.
  • Evaluating, Planning and implementing environmental issues.
  • In charge of running environmental issues that range from advocacy.
  • Monitor performance of staff on the ground.
  • Liaise with the government, donors and other organisations with similar interests.
  • Responsible for securing funding to sustain environmental projects and activities.
  • In charge of mainstreaming environmental matters

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, post graduate degree/master’s degree in
    Environmental science will be an added advantage.
  • Should have experience working for an environment oriented organisation.
  • Must satisfy chapter six of the constitution of Kenya 2010 of integrity and leadership.
  • 10 years experience working for an environment oriented
    organization
