County Government of Nyeri County Legal Officer Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities

Support in the discharge of duties as assigned in the respective technical unit.

Maintain accurate filing and recording systems, tracking file movement for efficient record management.

Draft contracts, lease agreements, and memorandums of understanding between the county government and collaborators.

Articulate the County Attorney’s position in meetings, seminars, negotiations, and conventions.

Initiate and undertake research on complex and emerging legal issues.

Prepare legal opinions and briefs on behalf of the County Government.

Conduct research to ensure compliance with applicable laws and provide recommendations.

Draw up and submit service level agreements, contracts, and other legal documents involving the County Government.

Present information clearly in written and oral platforms for counsel and staff.

Attend monthly departmental and county meetings to ensure efficiency of county functions.

Support designated county departments and agencies on legal matters.

Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Be a Kenyan Citizen (attach ID).

KCPE and KCSE Certificates (attach copies).

Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree.

Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.

Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in good standing with at least one year post-admission experience.
