Duties and Responsibilities

  • This is the entry and training grade for this cadre.

  • An officer at this level will be on-the-job training and will work under the supervision of an experienced officer.

  • Duties and responsibilities will entail simple maintenance of fire-fighting appliances.

  • Assist during emergency cases.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D (Plain) or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Fireman II certificate from a recognized fire service training school.

  • First Aid certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John's Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.

  • Be physically fit.

  • Be certified medically fit by a Government Doctor.

  • Have a Certificate in computer applications skills.

  • Driving Certificate, diving and rescue skills will be an added advantage.
