County Government of Laikipia Deputy Director Administration (Sub County Administrator) Jobs in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities

The Sub-County Administrator is responsible to the relevant County Chief Officer and plays a central role in ensuring effective service delivery within the sub-county jurisdiction.

The officer mobilizes resources and ensures their prudent, efficient use in line with development priorities.

Promotes citizen participation in the formulation of policies, development plans, and delivery of public services.

Facilitates both intra-governmental and inter-governmental relations, playing a key role in conflict resolution and fostering collaborative governance.

Oversees the safe custody and management of government assets within the sub-county.

Ensures full compliance with legal, statutory, and regulatory frameworks, as well as adherence to national values and principles of good governance as stipulated in the Constitution.

Identifies viable development projects, disseminates critical information to the public, and serves as a vital link between the county government and the local community, enhancing transparency, responsiveness, and public trust.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

Working experience of not less than seven (7) years in a senior-level management and leadership position in a public or private organization.

Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Public

Administration, Business Administration, Business Management, Community Development or any other Social Science degree qualification from a recognized institution.

Demonstrate a clear understanding of the County development policies, goals, objectives and ability to integrate them into the County's decentralized function.

Understand the diversity within the County.

Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Demonstrated managerial, administrative, and professional competence in work performance and results.

Certificate in computer application skills.

Possession of a Master's degree in the relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
