County Government of Kirinyaga Sub-County ECDE Officers Jobs in Kenya




Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning for programmes and conducting research on ECDE

  • Participate in stakeholder engagements in the ECDE sector

  • Mobilize and sensitize communities on the need for ECDE

  • Assist in the implementation of the ECDE policy

  • Monitor and evaluate ECDE programmes in the Ward/Sub County

  • Conduct professional development and capacity-building for Early Childhood teachers and other stakeholders

  • Plan and budget for ECDE play/learning materials and feeding programmes

  • Provide mentorship, counselling, and supervisory role over ECDE teachers in the County

  • Induct new ECDE teachers

  • Liaise with community, education fraternity, other government departments, and relevant stakeholders on ECDE-related matters

  • Participate in the training of ECDE trainees in the Ward/Sub County

  • Oversee welfare and discipline

  • Ensure adequate care of materials and equipment in the Sub County

  • Maintain proper inventories of equipment and supplies entrusted to the centre

  • Coordinate ECDE data collection and submission to the County Director in charge of ECDE

  • Advise on appropriate course materials and equipment required for training

  • Ensure high standards of professionalism in assessment and maintain records of learners’ progress within the Ward/Sub County

  • Evaluate
    compliance levels with regulatory requirements in the ECDE sector at regular intervals

  • Monitor compliance for registration of ECDE Centres

    Job Requirements

  • Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education from a recognized institution

  • Certificate in computer applications

  • Registration by the Teacher Service Commission

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ service as an ECDE teacher (management experience is an added advantage)

  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
