County Government of Kirinyaga Chief Officer – Public Works & Housing Jobs in Kenya
Duties & Responsibilities Promote investment in affordable housing through partnerships, including Public Private Partnerships
Support activities such as public participation and investment in critical infrastructure to support redevelopment of blighted housing in identified municipality residential neighborhoods
Promote access to safe, decent, and affordable housing
Mainstream national and international agenda on housing and human settlements
Develop policies to enhance conducive environment for housing investments
Support public-private partnerships in housing development
Research innovative and affordable building technologies
Ensure safe and quality housing
Maintain and update county housing inventory
Promote access to housing for County Government public officers
Redevelop old and dilapidated government housing
Promote informal settlements improvement in the county
Job Requirements
Kenyan citizen
Relevant Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya
Master’s degree or higher academic qualification from a recognized university will be an added advantage
Minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant experience, five (5) of which must be in leadership or senior management position in public or private sector
Proven experience in managing resources in a high-performing organization
Demonstrated general knowledge of County Government and its functions
Thorough understanding of socio-economic development
objectives, county integrated development plan, BETA, and Vision 2030
Result-oriented and strategic thinker
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
Ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
Understanding and commitment to values and principles of governance and public service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
Computer literate
Demonstrable leadership and management capacity, including knowledge of financial management and strategic people management
