County Government of Kericho Municipal Manager - Jobs in Kenya

The Kericho County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent, self-driven, dynamic, innovative and qualified persons to fill the following positions available in department of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning in the County Government of Kericho (Municipal Boards, Kericho and Litein) pursuant to Article 176 of Constitution of Kenya, the County Governments Act No. 17 of 2012.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment, the applicant must:

  • Be a Kenya citizen;
  • Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
  • Working experience of not less than five years in administration or management either in the public or private sector; and
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the constitution.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The Municipal Manager shall be answerable to the municipal board.

    Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing the decisions and functions of the board;
  • Overseeing the affairs of the municipality;
  • Developing and adopting policies, plans, strategies and programme;
  • Formulating and implementing an integrated development plan;
  • Maintaining a comprehensive database and information system of the administration and providing public access thereto upon payment of a nominal fee to be determined by the board:
  • Ensuring preparation and submission of the municipal annual budget estimates to the relevant County Treasury for consideration and submission to the County Assembly for approval as part of the annual County
    Appropriation Bill;
  • Establish, implement and monitor performance management systems; and
  • Perform such other functions as may be delegated by the municipal board.

    Terms of Service:
  • Five (5) year contract.

  • As recommended by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

  • Successful candidates MUST submit copies of clearance certificates from the following institutions:-
  • Kenya Revenue Authority.
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
  • CID (Certificate of Good Conduct).
  • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  • All applications should reach the Secretary /CEO, County Public Service Board on or before 21st March, 2019.
