County Government of Kakamega Advisor, International Partnerships and Collaboration Jobs in Kenya


Pursuant to the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012, the County Government of Kakamega invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions:-

An Officer at this level will report directly to the County Secretary and Head Public Service.

Duties and Responsibilities:-

Mobilizing additional resources from the national government, bilateral and multilateral donors:

  • Philanthropic foundations and: private sector, among other funding partners to boost the County revenue;
  • Developing and implementing a resource mobilization strategy focused on key elements such as relationship building, communication and organizational development;
  • Leading resource mobilization efforts for the County with the private sector including corporations, individuals, foundations, groups, associations, philanthropists and development partners;
  • Establishing networks and linkages for the County to spearhead fundraising efforts;
  • Guiding and strengthening planning, implementation, research, analysis, and monitoring of County fundraising activities with the private sector, national government, and bilateral and multilateral
    donors;
  • Conducting market research to identify current and potential funding partners for human resource development (HRD) including County and human resource management (HRM) investments, and establishing and maintaining an updated comprehensive data base of the donors and contributors for follow up and continuous engagement;
  • Negotiating and managing funding agreements with the financiers and contributors;
  • Generating interests in Public Private Partnership (PPP); and
  • Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Requirements for Appointment:-

    For appointment to this position, one must;

  • Be a Kenyan citizen;
  • Have Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Economics, Social Sciences, Public Administration or relevant fieldfrom a recognized University;
  • Have Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized University;
  • Have attended a Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP) lasting not less than six weeks (6) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Have Certificate in Computer Applications;
  • At least ten (10) years relevant working experience in resource mobilization with international and local donors, public/private sector and other partners;
  • Thorough understanding and experience in aligning an organization’s resource mobilization activities to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and shared value concept of potential donors;
  • Practical experience in fundraising for a cause with the private sector, development partners and foundation in excess of USD 2 Million (KES 200 Million);
  • In-depth knowledge in designing and implementing public private partnerships; and
  • Sound knowledge on devolution; and
  • Meet the requirements of Articles 10, 232 and Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

    Terms of Service:

  • Renewable contract based on agreed performance levels
