Cordaid International Local Partnership Advisor Jobs in Kenya; The Local Partnership Advisor leads the development of strong, equitable, and long‑term partnerships with local organizations.

The role provides strategic oversight of programme portfolios, strengthens partner capacity, promotes locally led development, and represents Cordaid in regional dialogues and networks.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Stewardship

  • Build and sustain equitable partnerships with local organizations.

  • Promote mutual accountability, trust, and shared learning.

  • Represent Cordaid in strategic dialogues with regional partners.

    Portfolio Leadership & Performance

  • Provide strategic oversight of programme portfolios.

  • Monitor portfolio health, quality, and sustainability.

  • Lead portfolio reviews to drive evidence‑informed decisions.

    Country Engagement Models

  • Implement and coordinate Country Engagement Models across the region.

  • Adapt approaches to local contexts and partner capacities.

  • Manage transitions between engagement models.

    Partner Capacity & Localisation

  • Strengthen organizational capacity of local partners.

  • Facilitate peer learning and promote innovation.

  • Support regional localisation commitments.

    Cross‑Domain Leadership

  • Collaborate with Regional Business Development, Finance & Operations, Humanitarian Managers, and global units.

  • Ensure integrated, responsive support for partners.

    Representation & Strategic Engagement

  • Represent Cordaid with partners, institutions, and networks.

  • Promote Cordaid’s positioning across the humanitarian‑development‑peace nexus.

    People Leadership & Culture

  • Create an inclusive, collaborative, and high‑performing culture.

  • Coach staff, promote accountability, and model Cordaid’s values.

    Requirements

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in
    International Development, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Sciences, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years’ leadership experience in international development or humanitarian organizations.

  • Extensive experience managing regional/multi‑country portfolios and partnerships.

  • Strong understanding of locally led development, strategic planning, and organizational development.

  • Proven track record in organizational change and donor engagement.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • Competencies in systems thinking, adaptive leadership, and collaborative decision‑making.

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of additional regional languages is an advantage.

  • Alignment with Cordaid’s mission and values.
