About Results Based Financing (RBF) Health
Cordaid has long been a pioneer in the implementation of Results Based Financing (RBF) in the health sector with its first implementation in Rwanda in 2001, after which it has been successfully applied in more than 15 countries, most of them in Sub-Saharan Africa including and Zimbabwe.
In Uganda, Cordaid initiated and financed an RBF pilot in Kamuli District in 2009 in collaboration with the Health Office of the Catholic Diocese of Jinja and the Kamuli district Health Department/ Office.
In a consortium with Amref Health Africa, ICRW, MIFUMI with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Uganda, Cordaid is implementing the HEROES project from 20202020-2024.
The programme aims to improve the well-being of young people (age 1024) and women (age 15-49) including underserved groups, in the districts Central: Bugiri, Mayuge, Iganga & Namayingo; and the East: Mbale, Budaka, Bukwo and Kween, and Kalanga, through addressing the disproportionate burden of SRHR violations and SGBV among young people and women.
About the E-Voucher Intervention
The programme introduced e-vouchers in 12 health facilities in the districts of Budaka, Bukwo, Kween, and Namayingo. The SGBV voucher has proven to be a good demand driver for services at the community level translating into more cases being reported in health facilities.are now looking to scale up to all RBF supported facillities in 5 districts of kween , bukwo, namayingo , budaka and Kalangala.
Cordaid is therefore looking for a talented young professional in the capacity of digital health officer to support the above interventions by working closely with an existing RBF team.
Job Summary
The Digital Health Officer will provide technical support and supervision of all E-voucher project activities working closely with the RBF team. This will involve organizing E-voucher design meetings, selection, training, supervision and mentorship of E-voucher ambassadors and health workers and monthly quantity verification of services delivered by the contracted health facilities throughout the project life time.
